This is a really beautiful Maserati Ghibli SS in the rare original colour Marrone Colorado.
Ordered on August 30th 1971by the first owner, Nick Kallens of Santa Barbara, California, USA. Interestingly Mr. Kallens personally picked the car op at the Maserati factory in Modena with Italian export registration plates (EE), most probably to drive the car on a nice European holiday before shipping it to California.
The current owner received all the original documentation from Maserati Classiche’s Fabio Collina in Modena. This documentation really is exceptionally complete and shows the car to be completely matching numbers and matching colours.
This is one of only 420 original Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS ever made!
The car was imported back into Italy in 1990 and received its Italian registration in Cremona (CR 436218)
From April 1991 until July 2013 the car was owned my Mr. Bruno Secondo Scaravaggi of Soresina, Provincia Cremona in Italy.
In May 1994 the car was registered with the ASI (Automotoclub Sorico Italiano) and the gold ASI plaque with accompanying registry passport are with car.
In May 2013 the current owner bought the car from Italy and imported it in The Netherlands. At that time the car was red. Having received all the documentation from Maserati Classiche, the owner decided to have the car completely and professionally restored in its original colours. After completion of this, the car was registered on Dutch historic registration plates.
Although the car was delivered new with an automatic gearbox, fortunately some time ago in Italy it was converted to manual transmission and equipped with a ZF 5-speed gearbox of the correct type.
The body was beautifully restored with very good panel fitting and great paintwork. The interior is really nice, it was redone a while ago and has mellowed nicely with a slight patina. The chrome work is redone and looks superb.
Furthermore the car has been equipped with 5 brand new aluminium wheels fitted with new Michelin tires.
Recently the car has been fully serviced and at the same time electronic ignition was installed for improved reliability.
This Ghibli 4.9 SS needs nothing and is ready to go!
